Build

The following is a list of items I plan on using in my build. My current goal is to have a streetable 500-600 rwhp on pump gas pushed by either a Garrett GT35R or GT4088R turbocharger. The 7M-GTE will be pulled and fully rebuilt with appropriate upgrades to the connecting rods, pistons, oiling system, etc.

Before the rebuild I plan on doing some "supporting modifications" that need to be done for the build, but can be done while the engine is still relatively stock.

Supporting Modifications

• Intake System
  • McKinney RaceWorks oil catch can
  • Front-facing intake manifold w/ 80mm throttle body
  • Precision Turbo 600 HP intercooler
  • Custom 2.5" aluminum intercooler piping
• Fuel
  • Walbro Fuel Pump + 12v mod (over 500 HP may be pushing one pump; I'll upgrade when the pump starts running out of juice)
  • 550cc RC Injectors (again 500+ HP may be pushing these...but we'll see)
  • Aeromotive Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
  • Delete j-tube return line restriction
• Cooling System
  • PWR Radiator
• Engine Management/Tuning/Monitoring
  • MAFT PRO using speed density
  • Innovate Motorsports LC-1 wideband controller with XD-16 gauge
  • Electrical stepping motor oil pressure & water temperature gauges
  • Mechanical boost gauge -30 in hg to 30 psi

Rebuild

• Internals
  • Eagle H-beam rods
  • JE Pistons
  • OEM or Clevite main & rod bearings
• Head
  • Metal Head Gasket (brand TBD)
  • Port & Polish (optional, depends on price/budget)
• Turbo
  • Garrett GT35R dual ball bearing turbo
  • Tubular manifold + Tial external wastegate
• Lubrication System
  • Oil pump inspected for tolerances; machined if necessary
  • Shimmed oil pump
  • Replace springs in oil squirters/pressure relief valves?
  • Enlarged oil pump->block feed
  • Thermostat controlled oil cooler + remote filter conversion
  • Crank scraper
